What the site does
TakeME Traveling assembles travel itineraries from a place database built on open data, and lists restaurants, sights and activities.
The site sells nothing, takes no payment and makes no booking. When you book, you do so with a third party, on their own terms.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the partner. It does not change the price you pay.
That commission does not influence how places are ranked: itineraries are built from notability, ratings and geography, not from what a place might earn us.
Accuracy
Places, opening hours, prices and contact details come from open databases, mainly OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. That information is contributed by volunteers and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.
Displayed prices are estimates, not guaranteed rates.
Closing days and opening hours must be checked with the venue before you travel to it.
The "halal" marker reflects what contributors recorded in OpenStreetMap. It is not a certification and does not replace checking with the venue.
Always verify anything critical before committing to it. We cannot be held responsible for a wasted journey or an expense incurred on the strength of this data.
Your account
Accounts are created through Google. You are responsible for what you publish.
Prohibited: unlawful, hateful or defamatory content, infringement of others' rights, spam, and posting photographs you do not hold the rights to.
We may remove content or an account that breaks these rules. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time by writing to the contact address.
You keep your rights in what you publish, and grant us the right to display it on the site.
Data and licences
Place data comes from OpenStreetMap under the ODbL licence. Descriptions and photographs come from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons under CC BY-SA. Those attributions appear in the footer.
The rest of the editorial content, in particular the destination guides, is our own.
Liability
The site is provided as is. We do not guarantee continuous availability or freedom from errors.
We are not party to the contracts you enter into with travel providers, and cannot be held responsible for their performance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action.
