What we collect

If you do not create an account, we collect no personal data about you beyond what the cookies section describes.

If you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

• your email address, name and profile picture, as Google supplies them;
• the technical tokens that keep your session open (access and refresh tokens issued by Google);
• a username, generated from your email address at first sign-in.

If you use the site while signed in, we keep what you create:

• your posts (text, images, video, stated budget, trip length);
• your comments, likes, and the accounts you follow;
• your saved itineraries (destination, length, budget, interests);
• the places you set aside;
• your bio, if you write one.

We store no passwords: authentication goes entirely through Google, and the site never sees your credentials.

We collect no payment details. No booking and no payment happens on this site.

Why, and on what basis

• To give you an account, let you post and keep your itineraries: performance of the contract you enter into by creating an account.
• To keep the site running and secure: legitimate interest.
• For audience measurement and affiliate tracking: your consent, where required (see cookies).

Who receives this data

We sell no data. The following providers process some of it on our behalf, or receive information as a consequence of how the site works:

• Vercel — hosting of the site and its technical logs;
• Neon — database hosting;
• Google — authentication, when you choose to sign in with a Google account;
• Travelpayouts — affiliate tracking, through a script loaded on the site;
• Klook — when you click an activity booking link, your browser is redirected to their site carrying our affiliate identifier;
• Wikimedia — the photographs shown are served from their servers, which therefore receive your browser's IP address.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union. We encourage you to read their own privacy policies.

Cookies and tracking

Strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie is set when you sign in. Without it you cannot stay authenticated. It serves no other purpose, and needs no consent.

Affiliate tracking: the Travelpayouts script sets an identifier that lets our partners recognise that a booking came from here. It is an advertising tracker.

That script loads only if you have accepted it. Until you answer, and if you refuse, it is not on the page — not blocked, not deferred, absent. Refusing takes no feature away.

Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and never reaches our servers. You can change it at any time through the "Cookies" link in the footer. A refusal is put to you again after six months, an acceptance after thirteen.

How long

Your account data and your content are kept for as long as the account exists. If you ask for it to be deleted, they are erased, except where the law requires us to keep something.

Sessions expire automatically.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and port your data.

To exercise them, write to contact.takemetravelling@gmail.com. We answer within one month.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the competent supervisory authority in France.

Children

The site is not intended for children under 15. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you find otherwise, tell us and we will delete the account.

Changes

This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the top. Substantial changes will be announced on the site.
